Many of you have heard me talk about the fun I have being active with Fast Company Magazine and the "Fast Friends Forum" or "F3" as we commonly refer to ourselves. WELL...the Fast Friends have put together and are hosting a Summit on Community to be held April 8 and 9 at the Aberdeen Woods Conference Facility (a fabulous place, wooded, wonderful food, great facilities) just outside Atlanta. The website for the conference is: http://www.newsalem.com/communitysummit We are inviting 100+ people (an intimate crowd) who have a world class passion for building community (in other words, people like you). The purpose is to learn from each other what it is to Build, Sustain and Celebrate Community in all areas; business, social, political, spiritual and internet. You all know that I believe that community building is a core leadership competency for the future and that people are crying out to connect in new ways and old ways. That is why I am so excited about this conference! The Summit format is modeled on Open Space Technology by Harrison Owen--lots of open, free flowing conversations with just enough structure to keep things moving and get at the heart of what people came to learn about and take away. We are spreading news of this gathering by word of mouth only. Feel free to pass this on to anyone you know who has world class passion in this area and might be interested. The cost of the Summit is $750.00. This INCLUDES Wednesday and Thursday night lodging, meals on Thursday and Friday and registration. That is, it covers everything except transportation. People who are coming (just to get you interested...:) Marsha Shenk, Creator of the BestWork Discourse and the only person I know so far who has developed a method to give people access to building and sustaining community Alphie Spears, Director of Net Business and Change Agent for BellSouth and the person in charge of "Unleashing the Soul of BellSouth" Bill Price, Webmaster, Technical Guru and Future Architect for BellSouth Susan Rosenthal, VP Global Marketing, Citicorp Tim Pearson, A Corporate Coach in Anchorage Alaska Dwight Herperger, Former Researcher for the Royal Commission on Indigenous Peoples, Canada And that is just to get you interested. It will be two days of pure energy and focus and the Fast Friends love to dance, so I'm sure we can do some community building on Thursday night as well! Don't forget, I'm also the steward of fun! So, sign up if this calls to you, pass it on to people whom you think it will call to and call me if you have any questions! 555-555-5555 Much love, [your name] ++++++++++++++++++ F3 Summit on Community April 8-9, 1999, Atlanta, GA USA "Building, Sustaining, and Celebrating Community" E=mc2 Energy = minds in community2 People Soul Dialogue Diverse Connected If you resonate to these words, please visit http://www.newsalem.com/communitysummit ===================================== If you can't access this web site, contact: Bill Price (Summit Co-coordinator, East Coast) Atlanta, GA email: bprice@newsalem.com (404) 249-5208 tel (770) 889-9825 fax Tim Pearson (Summit Co-coordinator, West Coast) Anchorage, Alaska email: tim_pearson@compuserve.com (907) 562-1568 tel & fax
