Terry King is a fourth generation potter. His kinfolk include such notables as Walter and Dorothy Auman and the Owen family. His mother is Peggy Luck (daughter of Minnie Parks Luck and Huston Luck) and his father was Garland King (son of Ethel Tucker King and Oliver King).

Pottery is all in the family with the Kings. Terry works alongside his wife Anna and daughter Crystal, on the farm homeplace where he was raised in North Carolina's "Jugtown" of Seagrove. The King's work is on display in many museums and galleries across he nation, including
